Utility companies suspend disconnections, take other moves

In relation to the COVID-19 pandemic, the following utility companies have made these announcements:

 

Southern California Edison is temporarily suspending disconnections and waiving late payment charges for customers facing financial challenges including inability to pay their bills. Visit sce.com/safety/coronavirus or call 1-800-950-2356 to learn more.

 

Southern California Gas is temporarily suspending service disconnects for customers who are having a hard time paying their bills.  Natural gas service will still be there and SoCalGas will continue to make essential and emergency service appointments. And while Gov. Gavin Newsom has issued an executive order restricting water shutoffs to homes and small businesses for consumers who may not be able to pay for their water service due to COVID-19-related issues, the Paramount Water Company has for the last several weeks temporarily suspended water turn-offs and waived late payment fees.
