There are about 73,000 teachers in 56 school districts throughout Los Angeles County, and each year 16 of them are named County Teachers of the Year. For 2019, one of that elite group was Felicia Akuamoah who teaches Intervention/Language Arts at Paramount Park Middle School. She was congratulated, and her accomplishment celebrated, at the November 5 Paramount City Council meeting. The Teacher of the Year program recognizes educators who have shown exemplary dedication, compelling classroom practices, positive accomplishments, and professional commitment.
