The City held its second annual Clutter-Free, Paramount event on January 5 at Paramount Park. Nearly 450 vehicles (almost twice as many as last year) dropped off large items that won’t fit in the trash, e-waste, green waste, and documents for shredding. There were 22 roll-off trash bins filled with 28.97 tons, plus 7.08 tons of e-waste collected. Keep in mind that you can always have large items hauled away by calling CalMet Services at (562) 259-1239, ext. 244. (No lumber, concrete, auto parts, and toxins like paint and used motor oil.) It’s free for single-family homes and multi-family properties with trash barrels. For residential properties with bins and for commercial accounts there’s a small per-item charge.
