Work has been going on in the parking lot at Progress Park.
This is the drilling of a deep groundwater monitoring site to help the Water Replenishment District of Southern California collect ongoing data related to groundwater quality and availability.
It’s the first such site in town, and joins 61 others including those nearby in Compton, Downey, Lakewood, and Cerritos.
The work should be done by the end of October or early November.
