At the July 9 meeting, the City Council recognized Alicia Anderson, vice president of the Board of Education, with the Mayor’s Gold Key Award for her remarkable service to the community over the years. Anderson has been a PUSD School Board Member for more 17 years, and is active with the PTA, advocating for more quality education on behalf of students and parents. In in partnership with Paramount’s Community Services Department, every summer, Anderson coordinates free haircuts for foster youth served by the school district. City officials thanked Anderson for her positive impact and support of Paramount students and families.
