Emma Romero, a fifth-grade student from Roosevelt Elementary School, was sworn in as Student Mayor for the Day at the Sept. 23 City Council Meeting. This special program, a partnership between the city of Paramount and PUSD, allows participating schools to select a deserving Fourth- or Fifth-grade student to serve in this honorary role. As student mayor, Emma had the unique opportunity to sit alongside the mayor and help lead the City Council meeting.
