The City has its sight set for future development through its Clearwater Specific Plan Update. What is a “specific plan”? It is a document that provides detailed instructions on developing a particular area, such as a neighborhood or corridor. The Specific Plan may define the types of buildings that can be built, the design of public spaces, transportation and parking requirements, and other details that help cultivate a sense of community. The Clearwater Specific Plan area includes the Swap Meet and other nearby properties between Rosecrans Ave and Somerset Blvd.

Over the next year, the City will develop this plan with considerable community feedback. Share your insights about future developments by attending a community feedback opportunity. The first public meeting is scheduled for February 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Clearwater Building Auditorium. You’re invited to learn more and share your input on the plan. Once approved, the Clearwater Specific Plan will guide change in this area for decades to come.
