STAR (Success Through Academics and Recreation) is an afterschool program run by the city at all Paramount Unified School District elementary and middle schools. It takes place Monday through Friday from 3-6 p.m.
Kids love it because of the physical activities, nutritional aspects, and homework help. Parents appreciate it for the free afterschool care.
Enrollment is now open for the 2020-2021 school year, currently via email. Go to paramountcity.com/residents/star-program, download the application, then email it back. For this year, the enrollment fee is being waived.
You must be a Paramount resident or currently attend a PUSD school. Applicants must be willing to commit for at least a continuous semester of STAR.
