National Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, was proclaimed by the Paramount City Council at its September 6 meeting. With this year’s theme of “Unidos: Inclusivity for a Stronger Nation,” the month pays tribute to the achievements and contributions that generations of Hispanic Americans have made to the nation, and honors the cultural legacy shared by many Paramount residents. Accepting the city’s proclamation were student members of the Paramount High School club Raices Unidas Jacqueline Perez and Joany Martinez, and club advisor Maria Sevilla.
