The Paramount City Council proclaimed March as National Women’s History Month at its March 14 meeting. This recognizes the contributions that women of every race, class, and ethnic background have made to the U.S. and acknowledges that women are capable of doing everything equal to men. This year’s theme is “Celebrating Women Who Tell Our Stories.” The City Council honored the Paramount Women’s Club, a group that has been telling the story of Paramount for almost 100 years. They help families and students in a variety of ways and provide a great opportunity for local women to give back to the community.
