The City Council recognized National Personal Self-Defense Awareness Month at its January 14 meeting. The observation is designed to educate women and teens about realistic self-defense options to protect themselves so they can avoid, escape, and survive possible assaults. Accepting the proclamation were Liliana Sanchez and Cassie Trost from Carlson Gracie, a mixed martial arts training facility in town.
